All right, today's question is coming from Lorraine Jealousin. I like your name, Lorraine. Very cool name. Her question is this,

what do I do with the soil and the roots left in the pot or tray after I harvest my micro greens.

Now this is a question that I get all the time on my YouTube channel because I have a

series on growing different types of microgreens over there.

I've got Arugla, Amaranth, Basel, etc.

And so one of the most common comments I get,

and I should probably make a video on it,

is, hey, what do I do with that soil and roots?

It seems wasteful to just throw it away.

Now, there are different schools of thought here,

and it kind of all depends on why you're growing

the micro-greens in the first place.

For instance, I know a commercial micro-greens producer on the East Coast

who grows all organic and he composts all of his soil and roots.

But it took him a while to get that set up

because he's organic certified and there are certain regulations

that you must comply with when it comes to composting.
