It's a conversation I taped last week for the guest segment on the regular Magnum Savage Lovecast.

But after recording it, I thought all my listeners needed to hear it, not just my magnum subs.

I also wanted those of you who listened to the microversion of the Savage Lovecast to hear it too,

particularly my listeners, all of them who are gay men, by men, men who have sex with men,

or people who aren't men, but whose partners are men who have sex with men.

This is an extended conversation with a medical

expert about monkey pox. This isn't my first extended conversation with a medical expert about monkey pox.

Check out my talk with Dr. Ina Park in episode 819, which went up on July 5th. But I first raised

the subject on May 24th at the top of episode 813.

There were 80 reported cases of monkeypox seen in gay and by men in seven countries when I sat down to record the intro to that show.

And before I could finish taping that intro, there were a hundred cases reported.

Maybe I'm being alarmist, I said at the top of the May 24th lovecast, but I am alarmed.

Turns out I was right to be alarmed. There are now almost 20,000 cases of monkey pox,

almost all of them in gay and by men all over the world. The World Health Organization has

declared monkey pox a global health
