Turns out he is an award-winning host, a storyteller, and a viral content creator.

I didn't know any of that. And I probably should know who he is, I guess, because he's got 2.3 million followers on Instagram, and I've only got a measly 104,000 followers on Instagram. And the way this social media pecking order is supposed to work, the way the world is supposed to be ordered. Those of us with fewer followers are supposed to know the names, at least of them with more followers.

Anyway, I found out about award-winning host storyteller and content creator Jay Shetty

after he posted something to his 2.3 million followers on Instagram, something that prompted

dozens of his followers to tag me in. It wasn't a photo. It was an inspirational or motivational

quote. Here's what

Jay Shetty had to say. A psychology professor said, if you're in love with someone, you won't be

interested in someone else. If you are, then you aren't in love. I think people need to see this.

Huh. I think Jay Shetty needs to add bullshit peddler to his bio.

Here's what people need to know.

This notion that if you are in love with someone you won't ever be interested, not even interested in anyone else, that's a lie.

It's a dangerous lie.

It's a lie that destroys relationships.

Happily partnered people in loving relationships can develop interests or

crushes on others. They can even catch feelings for others. And if you wait it out, not a problem.

But if someone believes a fleeting crush on or interest in another person means they aren't in

love with their current partner anymore, they may end a relationship

that doesn't need to end, a relationship that shouldn't have ended, a relationship that they will
