The ex-gays and the right-wing political and religious organizations that promote them are back.

And they've got a shiny new website and a hip new Instagram account to appeal to the youngsters.

You may recall that Exit is International, the nation's oldest and largest and most toxic ex-gay org folded in 2013.

And on their way out, while they shuffled off this mortal coil, they admitted that ex-gay therapy, conversion therapy, praying away the gay.

It doesn't work.

Their leader even apologized for the pain and hurt exodus had caused so many LGBTQ people.

This was the same guy, Alan Chambers, that was his name, who a few years earlier had famously said,

or I tried to make him famous for having said this, that the opposite of homosexual isn't heterosexual, it's holiness.

All right, let's pause here quickly to clock that name, Exodus, the chapter in the Bible

about Moses leading the Jews out of slavery in Egypt. Exodus framed homosexuality as a slavery

and Alan Chambers and all the assholes at Exodus were supposed to be

the mosaic. Anyway, Exodus was an umbrella group, an umbrella organization. So there were still

other ex-gay orgs rattling around out there after the motherfucker ship shut down. I don't know if

the ex-gay org with the shiny new Instagram account, a reader directed my attention to

last week, is a new ex-goreg or a rebranded old ex-gorg. And you know what? I don't really care.

New or old, it is the same old ex-gay bullshit in a shiny new bag. This time, they're calling themselves

equipped to love. Let's break that down. Only straight people are capable of love. Only straight people themselves equipped to love. Let's break that down.
