But I wanted to read this email.

We're going to be talking later in the show with Mistress Matisse about Sesta, a new law passed by Congress, not yet signed by Donald Trump as of this recording, that holds websites criminally liable for ads posted to them by people doing sex work and lumps all people doing sex work into the sex trafficking victim

category, whether someone is doing sex work of their own free will or not. After Sestimated

out of Congress, even before Trump signed it into the law, which everyone expects him to do,

probably this week, Craigslist pulled down its personal ads. Craigslist had already pulled down its

escorting ads. And shortly after Craigslist pulled down its personal ads, Backpage was seized

and shuttered by the federal government. Backpage is a classified site where people did

advertise to do sex work. And I got an email after Backpage was yanked down

just yesterday, and I wanted to share it with all of you, particularly with anyone out there

who thinks that everyone doing sex work is a victim of trafficking who needs to be saved or rescued,

particularly anyone who thinks that it is a good thing that websites where escorts could advertise their

services are being yanked down. Dear Dan, I have been doing body rubs for a dozen years or so now,

advertising first on Craigslist, then on Backpage. With no way for new clients to find me now,

I'm desperately afraid I'll be homeless soon.

I give hand jobs for a living. I don't take my clothes off or let them touch me on the front.
