Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a systematic

study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

It's a sad thing to see the fall of a man, especially a man who had so much potential. We have been looking at this over several programs

as we've studied the life of King Saul in the book of First Samuel. In our study

today we will see that Saul has simply lost it. How did this happen? What went wrong? How did he

fall so far? Those are the questions that John will be answering for us as we look at a story in 1st Samuel Chapter 20 and the answer

has great personal application for each one of us.

With our study here now is, Pastor John.

First Samuel, Chapter 20, verse 24.

So David hid himself in the field.

And when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.

The king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall.

And Jonathan, the King's son, arose.

And Abner, the King's General, sat by King Saul's side but David's place was empty.

Nevertheless, Saul spake not anything that day for he thought something hath befallen David. He is not clean. He's impure ceremonially.

But it came to pass, verse 27, on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that again David's

place was empty at the King's table.
