We don't obey the voice of the Lord.

We actually go against the voice of the Lord, thinking that God is not going to punish me.

Thinking that God is not going to try me for what I've done and I continue to do.

The problem with Saul is that God gave him opportunity after opportunity to repent,

and he never repented.

We're going to look at 1 Samuel chapter 15 if you can go there.

Saul's lying and disobedience.

Lying in disobedience, which is, it's just a sense that every one of us not only have

the experience, but we might be experiencing lying and disobedience in our lives here this afternoon.

Saul was a type of person that not only God had called to be in the ministry, but Saul had a real

situation, a real problem, that he liked to take credit. He wanted to be somebody, but he was not

really what God called him to be.

And maybe you're here today. But I think that the Proverbs are very clear. In Proverbs 1222, he says,

lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are his delight.

Proverbs 99, a false witness will not go unpunished,
