Welcome to Ok Computer. I'm Dan Nathan, joined by Deirdre Bosa. She is the host of CNBC's Tech Check. Debo, welcome to the pod.

0:08.5

Hi, Dan. Happy to be here. All right. We got so much to talk about. I know that this has been a very busy few days for you.

0:15.0

But after our conversation, I sit down with Matt Turk. He is a partner at First Mark Capital. He is an investor in the AI space and has

0:21.7

been for a long time. He's also the host of the podcast, Mad podcast with Matt Turk. And he and I go

0:28.1

over just this whole Open AI Microsoft saga, really through the lens of a private markets investor.

0:34.6

And obviously we spent a lot of time talking about what it means for the

0:37.8

public market ecosystem. You and I are going to do all that too, but I'm really interested in

1:06.8

interesting.

But what were some of your first takes?

1:08.6

Because when this came out on Friday, I just don't think there was like any hint that there was something like going to go down

1:14.3

in the way in which it did. And really, days later, here we are. We're recording this Tuesday afternoon.

1:19.2

And it doesn't seem to be like a whole heck of a lot of progress or a lot of answers.

1:23.4

Yeah. I'll say the first thing is that we still don't know why the board took the actions

1:29.2

that they did. A lot has been speculated, but you're right, damn, when this dropped on Friday,

1:33.6

I had not taken off for the day, luckily. And the first thing I saw was Sam Altman's out.

1:38.4

I said, okay. And then I read the statement from the board, which is when my jaw really dropped.
