The first thing you have to understand and fully grasp about wholesaling is your primary objective

and most of your focus is spent generating leads or opportunities. Lead generation is at the heart

of wholesaling. It is the lifeblood to a wholesale operation. The wholesalers who thrive are the ones

who learn how to consistently generate leads every single day.

So let's get clear about what it means to generate leads.

A lead is simply an opportunity to acquire property at a discount from the value.

Well, what kind of property owners would be willing to sell at a discount?

The answer is a distressed

property owner. Either the seller is personally distressed, such as he lost his job and inherited

an unwanted property, tired of being a landlord, or dozens of other different reasons. Or the property

is in distress and needs a lot of work. Usually both.

Now in wholesaling, we refer to a distressed property owner as a motivated seller.
