Hi everyone. Welcome back to Logical Bible Study, the podcast where we take an in-depth look at the scriptures,

if you go to Mass, you would hear from Luke chapter 9 verses 43B to 45.

Here's the text for today's reading.

At a time when everyone was full of admiration for all he did, Jesus said to his disciples,

for your part, you must have these words constantly in your mind.

The son of man is going to be handed over into the power of men.

But they did not understand when he said this.

It was hidden from them so that they should not see the meaning of it.

And they were afraid to ask him about what he had just said.

What has happened just prior to this?

So Jesus earlier in Luke chapter 9 had started telling his disciples that the son of man

must be persecuted and

killed. He's already said that once. He's predicted his own crucifixion. He has just been

transfigured, so the transfiguration has happened just before this, and then he cast the

demon out of the boy. So that all happened sort of in the section of text just before this one.
