Hey everyone. Welcome again to Logical Bible Study, and this is the podcast where we look at the gospel

0:17.7

reading from today's Mass, and we're really trying to get at the literal sense.

0:21.9

What does the text mean?

0:23.6

What's the Old Testament context?

0:25.4

Why does Jesus use particular words?

0:27.3

These are all things that we want to look at in these bite-sized exegesis episodes.

1:34.4

context. So Jesus, it's chapter six of Luke. So Jesus has just begun his ministry in Galilee. It's still

1:40.2

1:46.1

Now, verse one, I'll just read out verse one in our lectionary because the way they've translated it

1:50.3

is a bit too casual and it's a bit misleading. Here's what the lectionary says. One Sabbath, Jesus
