So the way to figure out what an average score would be for a player is take their

course handicap and add three shots to it.

Yeah. So if you are getting 10 strokes, it doesn't mean you're a 10 index.

You might, if you're playing at a harder course, you might be an 8 index, an 8 and a half index,

a 7 index if you're playing at a really hard course, and you might get 10 shots.
