We begin with that overnight tornado outbreak that ravaged the nation's heartland.

We're talking at least two dozen twisters reported.

Our weather team, of course, is standing by right now with the forecast, but we do begin our coverage with ABC's Mola Langie, leading us off from hard hit Lina, Illinois.

Good morning to you, Mola.

Well, good morning, Morgan.

Yeah, at least two dozen tornadoes throughout the region from Oklahoma up to Minnesota Minnesota to here in Lena Illinois, a small

town that got hit in just such a big way, destroying homes like this one behind me here.

As you can see, the roof ripped off, debris scent everywhere, just barely anything left, and

damaging so many others throughout the Midwest.

Man, that is ridiculously close.

Overnight, life-threatening tornadoes ripping through the Heartland.

The latest outbreak in a week that's seen at least 35 tornadoes from California to Vermont.
