It's crazy.

Well, if you're wondering, that's an incredible amount of pressure.

You're just wondering how that felt.

That felt like, all right, Lord, I need you to deliver.

You're going to need to do something tonight.

Hey, if you have your Bibles go ahead and grab there, we're going to be in 1st Corinthians 15.

But I want to spend some time setting up, getting us there, and then we'll

dive in. I grew up in a home with a super fundamentalist mama, like she thought the Pharisees

were a little bit lazy in their application of the law, and then I grew up with a daddy who was

battling some significant and serious demons.

And so it was a confusing thing to not be able to watch rated R movies or listen to secular music,

but in any time, Dad might snap and beat the hell out of you.

And then you have to try to make sense of all of that, that there's a lot of Jesus talk in the house, and there's a lot

of explosive violence that could pop off at any given time without even a good reason for it to

happen. And so what that did to me is made me really confused about the person and work of Jesus.

It made me not understand what this gospel thing was, what this Jewish man a couple of thousand

years ago dying on the cross had to do with me. And it really disoriented me for the things of God

for a long time. And then, you know, the Lord's good, so he, you know, fought his way through all of that

and snatched me up. I can quote David that he pulled me out of the muck and the mire. He set my feet

on a rock.
