Pastor J.D. Greer has been saying, here I am, Lord, send me for many years.

Currently, he serves as the president of the Southern Baptist Convention and has the pastor

at the Summit Church in Raleigh, Durham, North Carolina. Since the launch in 1961, the church has sent 1,256 full-time missionaries,

and they currently have 272 that are active in the field right now.

The Summit Church also has a goal of planting a thousand churches globally by 2050.

And presently, they've planted 62 in North America and 320 churches international.

Among the numerous books he's written, in 2011, he wrote, Gaining by Music,

why the future belongs to Church's best set.

Really, a kind of a thing is built in the idea that sending is less of a task that you

accomplish, and it's more of a culture that you create. The gospel is that when we were

outside of God's family, God came to us, and he gave up his life, everything, so that he could purchase us.

And those who've been redeemed by the gospel, you're going to look at people outside of

their church.

And they begin to say, we need to love our community like Jesus has loved us.

Not only is Pastor J.D. leading this effort, he actually served as a full-time missionary

personally for two years

in Southeast Asia in his early 20s.
