Throughout the gospel we see Jesus has compassion and forgiveness for the sinners around it, thieves, prostitutes.

However, Matthew 6 shows us that he saves his most severe words for hypocrites.

In part one of today's program, we learned that we are most susceptible to hypocrisy

in our areas of deed, devotion, and discipline.

When helping others, we need to always examine our manner and motive,

being careful not to do it for our own glory and praise.

Otherwise, we're fooling ourselves.

Now I want us to look at this passage of scripture.

I want us to see three things in Matthew chapter six.

First of all, I want you to see what I'm going to call

the shameful display of hypocrisy.

Our Lord takes three illustrations.
