But before we get into everything, I always like to go back to the start of my guests.

Get a bit of understanding about you. Where do you grew up and how it all began?

Ah, well, I was born in 1957, which is only 12 years after the end of the Second World War,

Second World War.

My mum was 17 years old and my father was in prison.

And so for the first seven years of my life, I never had a father figure.

And I felt that lack of something important for a long, long time afterwards.

And she got divorced and married a guy called Jeffrey Horsefall, who adopted me, gave me his name.

When I was seven, eight years old, not quite sure.
