Okay. We've been in the series the last several days called Wake Up.

It's based on the letter from Jesus to the church in Sardis.

And this is just one of the letters to the church in Revelation we've been studying the last few weeks.

If you have a burden for your church to wake up, I think you'll get a lot of encouragement today.

I've spent literally all my life in the evangelical world. In fact, I was in church nine months before I was born.

And ever since, in evangelical churches, Christian schools, ministry settings,

and I'm so thankful for the faithful input of many men and women of God into my life over those

years. But I have to say, as I survey 50 years of the landscape there, that I've seen a lot of

religious activity and many people who are living

decent lives, not living in major sin, but for the most part I have found that the majority of so-called

Christians in the West show few, if any, signs of true spiritual life. Now there's some notable exceptions, but for the most

part, there's little spiritual hunger, little heart, little discipline, little zeal, little passion
