Summary

There’s only one thing about a pub that is more important than the drinks that line it, and that’s the conversations that take place within it. And this week at The Moon Under Water the conversation flowed like the rivers of Babylon as Landlord John Robins welcomed comedian, writer and top-class conversationalist Sarah Millican through his doors.

Not only did Sarah choose the 7 drinks that will populate her dream pub, the topic of pub food was also brought up; for she is a carvery aficionado. Is there any better food to accompany a pint than “a quick, huge plate of brown”?

There’s also another addition to the pub jukebox (it’s got something for everyone), a brilliant pub quiz from Robin, and a chat about Sarah's MASSIVE upcoming tour.

I think I hear the sound of music. I sense light through pints a shimmering. Oh, there's a terrible wind on outside.

1:14.5

It's bitter.

1:15.6

It's violent.

1:18.4

And it's bleak in the streets.

1:21.1

The blossom is being blown from the trees like snow.

1:24.1

It certainly is, Robin.

1:26.3

And what a metaphor for modern life. Yeah, I suppose.

1:31.3

It blows blossom from the trees, not knowing its own violence, as I often say. I mean, it's very

1:38.5

windy. Yeah, and to just to sort of dig down a bit deeper into the metaphor, I think the wind is the internet.

1:46.2

And blossom is people's sense of self-respect.

1:50.9

Yeah, yeah, that's being blown about all the time, isn't it?

1:54.5

You're right about that.

1:55.8

But the chimney pots are rattling something.
