Summary

Sarah Boone was arrested in 2020 for Second Degree Murder of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres. She said they were playing hide and seek and she zipped him up a suitcase. Police found a video in Sarah’s phone of Jorge Torres pleading to be released because he couldn’t breathe. She is heard mocking and taunting him. Sarah has gone through eight different state appointed defense attorneys. The judge said that she was going to have to represent herself due to her behavior. Boone wrote an advertisement and is now being represented by a private attorney. I covered both pre-trial motion hearings for Wednesday, October 16th and Thursday, October 17th. The court has ruled that until Sara Boone takes the stand and establishes the legal grounds or foundations for a self-defense claim, the evidence of that can't come in. 1:15.7	according to her statements to police, and she zipped him into a suitcase and then left him there,
1:21.3	even as he was begging for his life. A lot of that is on video as she is mocking him.
1:26.5	This happened in February 2020. She has been in custody since then. Last week, she denied a plea deal
1:36.4	to the effect of 15 years for a lesser included crime.
1:41.9	And now she is facing if she is convicted of the
1:46.0	second-degree murder a minimum of 22 and a half years a maximum of life and
1:52.1	as I talk about this case, you might hear me say the thing that she did,
