$229 million in settlements relating to sexual abuse by this former Santa Monica police dispatcher. And the city is also facing additional

abuse claims from over 180 other people. Now, this guy worked with boys and girls at a

nonprofit after school department. And here is why the city is writing checks like crazy.

Because according to the story in the L.A. Times,

several former Santa Monica city employees told the police,

they reported this guy's misconduct.

And he still kept working there.
