Well, I'm on quite a noisy train as it happens. A tiny little two-carriage train at the second

one of the day actually. I left Lisbon at lunchtime. Capital City Portugal and I changed

a tiny little place called Casabranca, which is essentially just a railway station in the

middle of these rolling plains of Allentagia with their olive groves and their cork trees casting

these heavy shadows and their cattle standing in the fields. And we are slowing now because

very, very soon we're going to be arriving in Beija, where in an hour or two I'm going to

be hooking up with Pete because there's a bike race in town.

This place is really special. We're in a little town in the middle

of the region of Allentagia to give it its Portuguese pronunciation. It's not the Portuguese

pronunciation, but it's best you're going to get out of me. Close enough. And I've finally met up

with Pete. This has been a long time in the kind of like organised, isn't it Pete? There's

been quite a lot of logistics to consider here, but that's your game these days.

Yeah, we're sitting in the plaza, I can't, I can't, the public square basically, which

is a main square in Beija, which is just like, I mean, I've only ever been to Portugal

and seen the big cities, like Porto and Lisbon, where I've just come from. And I think

it's a vaguely remember that Mum and Dad took us on a holiday, you know, when I was still

sort of taken on holiday by Mum and Dad in my early 20s to the Algarve, which is a whole

different thing. Which would be 19. It would, yeah. It would, early 90s Pete. It's not
