I'm the host Scott Feinberg, and on this episode I am so honored to be joined

by perhaps the greatest living costume designer for film, Sandy Powell.

Powell is a 12-time Oscar nominee in the category of Best Custom Design and she has three wins to her name,

for Shakespeare in Love, for The Aviator, and for the Young Victoria.

Only four costume designers in history have more.

Edith Head won eight, but at a time when she got credit for the work of her entire department.

The same is true for Irene Sheriff, who won five, and Charles Le mare who won four.

In the modern era, there's only Molina Cannonaro who won four,

which is a number that Powell might well reach on Sunday

because she is nominated for not one but two films in this year's Best costume design Oscar category.

She is up for Cinderella and for Carol.

For Cinderella, she was nominated for the

Costume Guild Award for Excellence in a Fantasy film

and for the Best Costume Design Critics Choice and Baffda Awards.

She also won the Hollywood Film Award and the Capri Hollywood Award for that film.
