I would like to thank my unsung hero. I do not know her.

He just pulled up a chair and we talked.

I can't even express to you how much you've changed my life.

Today's story comes from Sandra Bailey. In 2002, Sandra graduated from college.

I'm a new college graduate from the University of Florida, go Gators.

And I told all my friends, I'm going to move to New York,

work in PR.

She moved in with a relative in the New York City suburbs.

She commuted into town every day. She handed out her resume to any

public relations firm that would take it. But after two weeks of hard work, she

hadn't received any callbacks. I was confident up until that day.

I think that day I was like, okay, this is not going to work.

Like, I don't know where to go.

I don't know who to talk to.

I don't know. I don't think this is going to work.

And I think I must have looked defeated. I remember the light changed. Everybody was moving and I just stood there

while people were walking across the street and I just stood and I was just like,

why do I need to even cross this street? Like I'm not going to, I don't know where to go.

What am I even doing here? And I remember having that moment, it's like one of those like crisis, like what am I even, why am I here, what am I doing?
