Good morning, everyone, the simple handigap for Thursday, September 2nd.

The final two days of NFL season previews one week away from kickoff, two episodes today, two episodes tomorrow, nothing Saturday or Sunday, and then the show, as you've come to love it, the last three seasons

will begin on Monday in its usual format, taking you through the entire NFL season all the way

to the Super Bowl in the middle of February. First team we're looking at today, the fourth highest

rated team in the league, San Francisco 49ers, with a rating of 82, first team inside

the 80s as we work our way to the top, which we'll talk about tomorrow.

Interesting 49ers team, a lot of, I don't want to say divisive, but I think a lot of people are making a lot out of certain things on this team that don't necessarily matter nearly as much as they think they do.

Starting with the quarterback situation, there's a lot of uncertainty about who people are going to think will start come week one at Detroit next

Sunday.

There was an interview that came out where Jimmy Garoppolo was asked, does he know who the

starter is?

His body language suggested it was going to be him.

There was a similar question asked to Kyle Shanahan repetitively, but just lately in some

post-practice press conferences, we saw the similar

body language out of him.

But look, based on the cap situation and if the 49ers were to get rid of Garapolo during

this off season, it would have been a very minimal hit due to the dead cap money.

And so I have a very difficult time seeing through the truth that this is truly an uncertain

decision because if what they gave up to move up to draft Lance was the direction that they were immediately ready to go.

There's no way that this would have dragged out nearly as long as it has so far because they would

have had a lot of resources at that point to go out and potentially add an extra guy that is missing within the secondary, add
