I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

We have a really interesting story today.

And in going with crimes at the border cartels, organized crime, this fits right in.

And the San Diego district attorney has announced a take down of a large crew of organized

crime run by a prison gang known as the Mexican mafia.

The Mexican mafia is not an unheard of gang in California and has been

running with impunity for years. But the San Diego district attorney is announcing that this

taked 39 arrests of violent criminals, arms traffickers and drug dealers, Operation Los

Imuestos, targeted prison gang calling shots to street gang associates on the outside.

And this type of extortion, robbery, just terrorizing people in this community had been going on for years.

And many of us that aren't part of this, we wonder how could this go on for years.

And this man, Ronnie Aela, a leader of the Mexican mafia from inside prison, was calling the shots from inside prison.

No stranger again.

This type of situation has been going on.

And these are the type of gangs that need to be targeted.

Gangs, cartels that are destroying the fabric of community in the United States of America.

San Diego district attorney, Summer Stephen, announced today dozens of arrests resulting from a wide-ranging takedown of street gang members,

operating in San Diego County at the direction of the largest prison gang known as the Mexican Mafia,

which has ties to Mexican cartels.

Many of those arrested have been involved in murders, attempted murders, robberies,

arson, extortion, drug and weapons, trafficking, and violent assaults.
