In Stephen Spielberg's haunting adaptation of Peter Benchley's novel, Jaws, an Apex Predator, stalks a sleepy New England beach community called Amity Island, bringing terror and death to the usually peaceful hamlet.

The predator, a great white shark, lurks beneath the surface, silent, unseen, waiting

for the perfect moment to strike.

There is a reason the shark in jaws is so terrifying, and it's not just its teeth, or its speed. It is that it never

stopped. It did not kill out of anger or revenge. It did not even kill out of hunger. It did not

even kill out of hunger. It killed because that is what it was born to do. And if you looked into its eyes, you would see nothing.

Just a dark, lifeless void. Samuel Little was no different. On January 24, 1971, the decomposing body of Mary Brossley, a 33-year-old mother of two,

was discovered in a shallow, six-inch grave near Miami, Florida.

Nearly 50 years later, Samuel Little confessed to strangling Rossley to death. He described her death

with chilling details, right down to the necklace she had been wearing the night he took

her life. Rossley was Little's first victim, but she was far from his last. For over four decades, Samuel Little

hunted women across the country, women on the fringes, women no one was looking for, his weapon

of choice, His own hands.

He strangled his victims, watching the life drain from their eyes.

And then he dumped their bodies like garbage.

By the time he was finally caught, he had murdered 93 women, making him the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history. And just like the shark in Jaws, people who knew Samuel Little described his eyes the same way.

Cold, vacant, dead.
