In this special series, though, I'm going to focus on a pivotal time in UFO history.

The years from 1947 to 1955.

This is when the U.S. Air Force began collecting thousands of reports about strange objects in the skies.

But it was one specific Air Force intelligence officer who took this task very seriously.

His professional and personal goal was to fully investigate and analyze all the details

of every UFO report ever made to the U.S. military. Not only that,

he wanted to share all those details with the public,

which he did.

You are about to hear the very first,

unbiased, tell-all account about UFOs, written by a top military intelligence officer.

The Inside Story of UFOs Part 1, The First Flying Saucers. In June of 1947 in Washington State, a civilian

pilot named Kenneth Arnold reported seeing several strange objects in the sky. Soon after, other people also reported similar sightings,

often referring to them as flying saucers.

Within weeks of that initial sighting,

the U.S. Air Force established the first of several projects to investigate these strange

reports. The first investigation was called Project Sign. It was started in

1947, and it lasted less than a year.

The second investigation was called Project Grudge.
