Welcome everyone, this is the best of left podcast, but what I have for you today is a special

just a little sampling.

We do bonus material for our members and I gotta be honest, I am really proud of those

episodes.

I think we've kind of been killing it over there.

I know I'm biased, but that's how I feel.

And so I wanted to share with you what you've been missing out on if you're not a member

of the show.

So this is an extended clip featuring myself and Amanda who you've heard doing our activism

segments, but also our two researchers, Dion and Aaron, who are brilliant in their own

right and it didn't take me all that long to realize that their talents were being wasted,

not having them come on and at least chime in during the bonus show because they've

got all kinds of fascinating and thoughtful takes as you shall hear.

And this is just a bit of the conversation we had on the topic of the return of the

mass shooting events to America that really makes us feel like we're getting back to

normal in this age of COVID.

I thought the framing of getting back to normal kind of sparked something in me thinking

about just what normal means in America and with the gun violence, the mass shootings

obviously.

But the framing of the crisis on the border, we just did an immigration episode, but all

the news shows this Sunday talked about the crisis on the border.

Not one time talking about what the crisis actually is.
