The History of UFOs, Mysteries from Above.

I've organized this historical overview into six chronological errors.

You'll hear how the descriptions, understandings, and the terminology about UFOs have evolved over time.

For instance, although I'll use the term UFO throughout most of this episode,

at one point in this episode, you'll learn that the term UFO should only be used for one specific

time period in history.

Oh yeah, I'm anal like that.

Here we go.

The first phase of UFO history began several million years ago.

I call it the era of celestial phenomena.

It began when humans first evolved eyeballs and necks.

In other words, for as long as people could look upwards, they've seen things that perplex their squirrels.

One famous example goes back to 240 BC.

This is when a document by Chinese astronomers referenced a strange and unknown light in the sky.

The light appeared in the east and slowly moved north.

Today, we refer to this mysterious light as Haley's Comet.

Is Haley's Comet, a UFO?

Well, not to those who understand or understood.

It's a comet.

But to anyone in the past who didn't know what they were looking at,
