Our plans is we're going to start with Sam.

You know, I spoke with the coaches, talked to some of the team leaders, and, you know,

and talked with some others about it.

And it will we feel that this is an opportunity for us to give Sam a chance to show us what he's

capable of. I think that, you know, the opportunity is going to be a good one for him to go out

and play football and, you know, just kind of show us. I mean, you know, we're not going to judge

everything on Sam based on just one game. We are going to get an opportunity to see him and see

how he prepares and gives himself the opportunity to play. That was Ron Rivera moments ago announcing

that Sam Howell is going to start the season finale against the Cowboys Sunday in Landover. That announcement came after a report earlier in the day from Jeremy Fowler at ESPN

that Taylor Heineke would start the game, but Sam Howell would play in the game.

You're going to hear a lot of what Ron Rivera said in the next segment, but in listening

to his press conference, it does appear as if he changed his mind today, that he first wanted

to start Taylor, but after talking to various people, he had his mind changed.

I mean, I don't know.

To me, it seemed pretty easy in terms of what the decision was.

Maybe his mind was changed when somebody actually reminded him that his team was eliminated from postseason play.

That that actually happened on Sunday when they lost to the Browns and the Packers and the Lions both won. Maybe they said, hey, Ron, remember, we've been

eliminated. The game against Dallas is meaningless. Anyway, it does appear, though, that he

waffled a bit on this decision. In my opinion, and I have a much
