I have a story up now on Sam Howell's progression from the spring and throughout the summer

and why Ron Rivera made the decision or announced the decision he did today.

Of course, that is what I'm talking about is that Rivera said that Howl is going to be their

starter going into the season.

No surprise.

I think the only people, to be honest, who are surprised

are those who haven't followed this team on a daily basis. Maybe our national, more national

folks are just kind of paying attention on the periphery. And because I'd get asked,

even on SportsCenter, what about the quarterback battle? Well, it never was a true quarterback

battle because what they wanted to see is is did Sam Howell lose a job?

And the answer was no. That was the key. Like he always had it. The key was, was he going to

hold on to it? Would he lose it? And he did not lose it, which is Rai, Rivera wanted to make
