For Wednesday night, your reading assignment is chapter 9 of 2 Corinthians.

Chapter 8 and chapter 9 are two chapters about giving.

Paul is reminding the Corinthians to be giving of their financial help to the church.

And it's an interesting message.

But last Sunday, we kind of stepped away from the giving topic,

but saw some of the other things that Paul was talking about. And I want to do the same thing

today as it's still the topic of giving. But there's a verse at the very end of this that's

really cool. And by the way, I find it interesting

how Paul is using this topic in the area of giving.

What would you say if you heard of a pastor of a church?

Let's just say for fun, a mega church.

And let's say that pastor was talking about the goodness of God

and then said, because God is good,

you should be good and you need to give to the church. Would you say that's manipulative? Well, I'm sure, I guarantee there'd be podcasters out there, say, that's manipulation, talking about God's goodness, and then you should be good because God's good to you, you should be good and give money to the church. And if you are a podcaster and you spoke about that, as there's many of the do, guess who you'd be talking against? Paul the Apostle. That's exactly what he does right here. In fact, he's going to tell us this verse. We're going to step away from the giving topic for the day, but Wednesday night we'll cover it as we cover every verse of the Bible. But I do love what Paul does here,

and it's right here in 2 Corinthians chapter 9 verse 15. He says, 2nd Corinthians 915,

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. Eight words to finish up this giving wrap that Paul gives to the church

at Corinth. He says, thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. And the connotation is, hey, as God's been

good to you and given you a gift, you need to be faithful

and give the gift to the church as well. And that's that, we'll see that on Wednesday. But I'd like

to just take this time on this Sunday morning to bask in that glorious thought that Paul is bringing

up, oh, thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift. The word

unspeakable, you know, I know that it's a word we don't use a lot. Well, that's just unspeakable,
