Berg talks about Salt Deficiency on Keto. When a person is burning sugar and running on the sugar fuel, that is called glycolysis and then shift over to ketones burning fat. They will eventually drop a lot of electrolytes and the need for salt will go up. He also talks about the recommended salt intake when on ketosis.

Salt Deficiency Symptoms:

• Low Blood Pressure  • Leg Cramps (Especially in the lower part of the leg, the calf are and the foot) • Dizzy when standing up  • Weakness  • Fatigue

Two Types of Salt:

• Himalayan Pink Salt (From the mountain top in Pakistan. It is pink because it has a little bit of iron)

• Celtic Sea Salt (It has clay and is from a certain ocean)

Hey guys, I wanted to do a quick little video on salt deficiencies on keto.

0:41.3

Okay, so normally when a person is burning sugar, they're running on sugar fuel that's called

0:46.3

glycolysis, and then they shift over to ketones, burning fat, what's going to happen?

you're deficient, would be low blood pressure, dizziness when you stand up, leg cramps,

1:20.2

especially in the lower part of the leg, the calf area, or even in the foot, okay? Also,

1:26.6

general weakness and fatigue. Those are all classic signs

1:30.9

of low sodium and also chlorides as well. So the next question is what type of sea salt

1:35.5

do I need? Now the new two most popular ones are the Himalayan pink salt, which is from a

1:42.3

mountaintop in Pakistan. And it's pink because it has a little bit more iron,

1:47.3

but it's very pure. It's very ancient. It's awesome. And then you have Celtic salt, okay?

1:53.9

And that's gray because it has some clay in it. It's from a certain ocean. And it's very healthy,

2:00.4

too. If we compare these two, it's a little lower
