Today's guest is somebody who's been on the show for four times, which is a record.

It's Bill Hazelgrove and he's previously joined us to talk about Teddy Roosevelt,

the Wright Brothers, Henry Knox, who transported weapons to Georgia, Washington, and the Revolutionary War.

But now he's here to talk about somebody very different.

However, Bill thinks that this person shares a lot of qualities with the aforementioned figures.

That is Sally Rand.

You may not know her, but she was one of the biggest sex symbols and movie stars in America in the 1930s.

Was arrested multiple times for indecency and partied with all the top stars of the silent era

in American film, like Charlie Chaplin and other celebrities like Charles Limburg.

Bill argues that the reason she deserves attention, as a great American figure,

has to do with her resourcefulness and her willingness to shatter norms.

Sally Rand appeared in more than 30 films and she was named after a road atlas by Cecil B. DeMille,
