or have lived with a seemingly hopeless problem of addiction understand as perhaps few others can.

So much depends on our own attitudes and we believe that changed attitudes can aid recovery.

As I promised last week, this week I'm sharing an open talk by Sally C with you.

Good evening, my name is Sally and I'm a member of Al-Anon.

And if you're made of the

of Alcoholics Anonymous, or you're not familiar with Alonon? I'm an Alonon

because I go to Alonon meetings. I am not an Alonon simply because my life has been touched by the disease of alcoholism.

And I'm a firm believer.

I'm a firm believer that that's what makes you an Al-Anon are meeting. I would like to thank Jane and Doug and everyone who's involved in this conference for asking me to come and share.

I love conventions and I love conferences.

And... And Keith say, I just can't believe I'm in Scots Bluffs.

It's kind of hard to believe that sometimes that we do get to come to places like this because considering where Keith and I came from and what the disease of alcoholism, I can't say did to us, but did for us.

I know that this is one of the fringe benefits.

When I had been in Al-Anon about two years,

I had one of these experiences happen to me and I was asked to go to a conference

in Arizona and share and it was the format was like this there was an AA speaker and an

Al-Anon speaker and I was fortunate to be asked to go and chair Al-Anon.

An AA speaker was Jill Al-Litt from Tyler, Texas, and we had met Mary and Joe before that.

And I stood in awe of this man.

And so I did so often what we do when we're asked to go somewhere. I got all ready to go for it took me about two weeks and we went over to the hotel
