So I started the day believing that I was going to interview President Trump.

A president really wants to talk about Pennsylvania.

He's in a great mood.

I'm like, it works for me.

So we races us through the crowd behind the stage.

Doesn't you have the best hair in journalism? And I'm getting really embarrassed. I just want to

like shrink inside myself because everyone's now staring at me. And then he says, how are your

grandchildren? First thing he says. And then he says, well, I'm really looking forward to this

interview. I really want to talk about Pennsylvania, but I want to hear what you want to ask me to.

He says, you want to go out with me on stage? I'm like, no, sir. And so we go out and he said, I can't get you back to the riser. You're just going to stay in the buffer. And it's also the area where the Secret Service is. Because you see President Trump looking out to the rally goers. This is just as he's walking out, and she's taking the shots,

and he has his arms out.

For whatever reason,

he turns his neck away,

pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,

at that exact moment.

And I knew immediately

that it was gunfire.
