Summary

Adrian Clarke and Art de Roché join Ian Stone to discuss the 2-1 win at home to Wolves on Saturday.

The panel reflect on the contributing factors to the disappointing performance, Arsenal’s poor first half displays recently, Arteta’s team selection, Bukayo Saka continuing to deliver, growing concerns around Victor Gyokeres, Ben White’s injury, and the excitement around Gabriel Jesus’s return.

Plus, they discuss how Arsenal should approach the week ahead with no midweek game and look ahead to the next run of fixtures.

Producer: Robby Williams

and Adrian Clark. Good morning. Hello. Good morning. Morning. I thought what we do, right,

0:32.5

obviously, as soon as we're finished this, we're never going to speak of that game ever again

0:36.7

unless, you know, we win the title by a point and we go, oh yeah, there it was, there it was, there. But, you know, in the end, it was one of those. But I wonder what would have been less painful to do or watch them Saturday's game. And I say this because I didn't watch it live. I was doing a Christmas gig in Brighton. And I've got to be honest with you. At Christmas gigs, they're not the best. I ended up berating them saying that I'm coming to Brighton in March and I don't want you to come. I absolutely don't want you there. And I got the lights up and I made sure that I could,

I said,

I'm going to remember your faces.

1:12.9

And if I see you turn up,

1:14.5

you're not coming in, all right? Because I don't want you in front of me. Do you know what? It was quite a laugh. And they took it in good heart. But it was one of them. And I thought to myself, And then I saw what was going on with a football and I thought,

1:25.8

I think I might have had more fun doing that thing.

1:28.3

Yeah, you definitely did.

1:29.4

I think I did.

1:31.0

So, uh, what would you have done would have been

1:33.1

less painful art than watching that game? I mean, pretty much anything, right? Yeah, anything.

1:37.4

First thing that swings to mind, maybe a dentist appointment. Yeah, yeah. In general, I mean,

1:43.0

listen, I get on with my dentist. I'm not, my dentist used to be a comedian. Okay. I know that sounds ridiculous, but he was. So I have a good time. It's nice to visit him, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. Densis would have been less painful. Adrian, what would have been less painful? Well, look, I was going to say Christmas shopping because I really don't like Christmas shopping. And if anyone was in London at the weekend, it was absolutely full to the brim of people. But you know what? It wouldn't have been more fun. It's part of the rich tapestry of football. Oh, don't get all philosophical on us. Crap games that are not enjoyable is part of the greater good.
