adventure together. In our last episode we heard about how young St Thomas Aquinas was imprisoned by his family,

freed by some friars, proved himself in Cologne, and went on to study at the best institute at that time, the University of Paris.

Let's listen in and hear how he became one of the most influential Catholic thinkers of all time.

Thomas finished his bachelor's studies at the University of Paris.

Because of his incredible giftedness, the Chancellor ordered that he bypassed the usual requirements

and to send immediately to the office of master.

In his humility, he wanted to refuse the honor,

but in obedience, accepted.

As part of the advancement,

Thomas had to write on some topic of scripture, and feeling

unworthy and anxious, he could not come up with a topic. As he always did, any time he felt unsure, he took the matter to prayer.

Save me, O Lord, for truths are decayed from among the children of men. But before he could finish his prayer, sleep overcame him.

In his sleep, Thomas had a glorious vision of a friar clothed in the very same habit as himself.
