For years, I've listened to and been inspired by podcasts, and I've gone on some crazy adventures of my own.

Recently, my wife, Rachel, and I sailed our Teana 37, Satori, from the Chesapeake to Panama and then back.

Now, still living aboard the boat in Baltimore.

In fact, I'm recording this from the main cabin and staring at the diesel heater as it attempts

to keep the winter chill off. I'm teaming up with Andy Schell from On the Wind Sailing Podcast

to create an entirely new show. Here's Andy to explain the premise and the inspiration for it. Thanks, Lee. In 2015,

I met Yana Larson, a swede who on a handshake agreement with his good friend Kala Anderson,

decided they'd set off to sail around the world. Never mind that neither of them had ever set

foot on a sailboat. It was an old school arrangement and five years to the day later

they set off in a halbergrassy 42 from the west coast of Sweden for their great adventure.

Yana told me that he was interested in getting the book they'd written about the voyage, a huge hit in Europe, published in the US.

I had a light bulb moment and thought, wouldn't it be cool to turn

this into a serialized podcast instead? Yana and Kala's story told over a series of audio episodes

week by week. Then I thought, why stop there? Why not make an entire new podcast based on

serialized sailing stories? Each season
