Hi, Dr. Laura. So I called you three years ago. I was celebrating my one year anniversary. So I was in Newly wed and I had just told you how much I appreciated your book, the proper care and feeding of husband.

0:27.0

So fast for three years now, it'll be four years this summer. I had twin girls last summer and decided to stay home with them. I quit my teaching job. My husband graduated school and I just wanted to call and just give you all of the praise because you made it so easy for me to want to transition to be a stay at home mom.

I get up every morning. I don't enjoy getting up at night, but I feel like so irreplaceable and like the work that I'm doing is so important. And I can't imagine giving my kids to someone all day to watch them. And I just have such a deep sense of joy for the advice that you give your listeners.

1:12.0

Because being a stay at home mom is really hard, but it's just the greatest job I've ever had.

1:18.0

You made a distinction that I hope everybody got you said you didn't want to put your kids with somebody else to watch.

1:32.0

That's what hired help daycare, etc. That's what they do. They watch. Mother nature and love and teach and hold and play.

1:46.0

Hired help watches kids. And the developmental process of their brain forming connections and them discerning the world, whether it's safe and wonderful or what have you is based upon whether they're just watched or loved all day.

2:06.0

Daycare is a place where kids are watched. They're not loved all day. And for those women out there and men who think that doesn't make a difference in the developmental brain of a little child, you're wrong. You're seriously wrong.

2:24.0

So you made a distinction that was brilliant.

2:27.0

Thank you. I babysat through high school and college and there's just nothing. There's like no attachment to the kids that I babysat. And so I would assume if I'm putting my girls into daycare, like a random adult isn't going to have the care and attend. They're not going to be as attentive to their needs as I am.

2:45.0

No, of course not.

2:46.0

And I just you never dog said, home moms, in fact, you crazed them and I'm my husband's girlfriend. I was not a shack of honey. We did everything in an order that made sense and it has made it's just brought so much joy to my life. I get up every morning, even if I'm tired and I just have.

3:06.0

I just feel like what I'm doing is irreplaceable. I'm not disposable like I was at work.

3:10.0

Oh my God, you're good. Yes. Thanks.

3:16.0

I'm really.

3:18.0

You say things beautifully. I appreciate it. Wonderful. Thanks for calling me.

3:24.0

Yeah, thank you.

3:26.0

Oh, bye. Yeah, she can be replaced at work, but not with her kid. I love it. My number 1 800 375 2872.
