0:00.0 | Hey, everybody, it's Bob Goff here. And I am delightfully up in Canada. I'm writing the next book and sweet Marie and I have been up here for actually a month or two and so looking forward to continuing to jump in with you guys in the fall, but we wanted to play one of our very things. |
0:28.0 | To play one of our very favorite podcasts for you and it's with our friend Sadie and what she has to say is really it's kind of timeless. So tune into the conversation right now. |
0:41.7 | Today, we have Sadie. Now it's tough. Yes, like I still call Lindsey Lindsey Goff and said a Lindsey Vitticist. |
0:50.9 | Back in the old days, but welcome Sadie. I'm so glad you're with us. |
0:54.0 | Thank you, Bob. I'm so excited to be on your podcast. I always love getting to talk to you. |
0:59.4 | You know, we, I think we celebrated a friendship anniversary and adventure anniversary recently, because I got a photograph of us all in Mogadishu Somalia. |
1:10.2 | How long ago was that? |
1:11.6 | Gosh, when was that? I did not even check the date on that, but I felt it was like four years ago. Is it that long ago? Three or four years ago? |
1:19.6 | And I'm still feeling guilty because somebody like put Henna tattoo on your armor. |
1:26.8 | Can you tell that story? What happened? Cause it was I didn't find out for a month or two later, you were such a gracious friend without telling me you just like got these like nasty burns. |
1:38.3 | Tell us about that. Yes. I think so now that I'm thinking about the Henna tattoo is definitely four years ago, maybe five even, but we were in Mogadishu Somalia. |
1:47.2 | And we were meeting incredible people and they were learning how to do hinna tattoos. |
1:51.2 | So of course, I'm trying to make friends with people that I don't understand their language. So I'm like, try your hinna tattoo on me. That would be so fun. |
1:58.7 | Like that would be a great bonding experience. |
2:01.0 | However, the Hina that they were using, there's certain types of Hina that a lot of people are allergic to. It's kind of like just not great for your skin. |
2:10.8 | So I didn't know that or even think about that. So I get this Hina tattoo all down my arm. I mean, from elbow to hand and Bob, you remember, it was very detailed. |
2:20.7 | And basically everywhere the Hina was, it just burnt into my skin. And so I had a scar of that. |
2:28.8 | I guess the font that they use the design for a good while I ended up having to get all kinds of cream to get make it go away. |
2:35.7 | But it was, it was a gift I kept on giving for sure. Oh my gosh. And they were detailed. I mean, even the leaves had leaves. Oh yeah, that was a tattoo. |
2:46.8 | Yeah, I remember the first time I went to Mogadishu. I wanted to blend in as if I was going to blend in. |
2:52.8 | And somebody told me to get a can zoo and a can zoo is like a white dress that goes like from your shoulders down to the ground. |
3:01.6 | And so I bought this white can zoo dress thing. And I flew into Mogadishu. I am the only dude in all of Mogadishu wearing a white dress. |
