Today on "The Call Room: Road To Seattle" is National Record Holder Sadie Engelhardt!
Sadie recently took down the high school national outdoor mile national record at the 64th Annual Mt. SAC Relays, running her way to a new best of 4:31.72! If you've listened to my podcasts with Sadie in the past, you know this result has been a long time in the making.
Sadie has been on fire all year as she also won the 2024 New Balance National Indoor Mile title by running a meet record of 4:36.36.
She holds PRs of 2:05.66 (800m), 2:41 (1k), 4:11.79 (1500m), 4:31.72 (Mile), and 9:50.69 (3200m). She was the California Girls Gatorade player of the year for both Track and XC, won the 800/1600 double at her state meet in California, and is 3xNew Balance National Championship Mile winner.
Sadie is committed to run for NC State in 2025 after she graduates high school.
Sadie has run at the Brooks PR meet every year of high school thus far. She's entered into the Mile, where she'll look to win her first golden spike.
In today's conversation, Sadie takes me through her recent National Records both in the Mile & DMR, winning a Pro 1500m race, her ambitions for the 2024 Brooks PR Meet, her experience at past PR meets, and much more!
