Just to be in the shadow of this fortress, which is over 5,000 years old.

And I think Sheka will be the best person to talk about it, please, ma'am.

Thank you, Said Guru. It's an honor to have you here in this location, in the heart of Bahrain, in this ancient harbor.

It's the first world heritage site that has been inscribed in 2012 under UNESCO.

We're very proud that you're here today discovering the layers of history in this beautiful place.

I know the entire civilizational evolution on this planet happened around Indian Ocean.

Absolutely. And this was an important part of that.

Absolutely. For us, it's multi layers of discovery, of understanding our land, our heritage, of the civilisations that's passed through this place.

So, though today, we are taking national boundaries as some kind of absolutes, which we should not.

There are only advanced and even political boundaries. And for soil, there are no boundaries.

Similarly, for the ocean, there is no boundary. Indian Ocean, or this region, has been the source of maritime commerce in the world.

So, right from China to Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, being a whole big centre, and then down to Arabia, particularly this Gulf.

And all these nations, including Bahrain, have played a significant role in evolving the maritime commerce and maritime culture,

where we interacted, conversed, and became like one people through trade, never thinking of conquering each other,

but seeing how we can overtake each other with our skills.

All of this is present with us, said Guru, with the story of the Perling Park, of our connection as the Kingdom of Bahrain with the sea,

with the heritage of the Pearl drivers, the tradespeople that left with the most beautiful wooden dows that were made in Bahrain,

and they told the story of the connection between us and between India, through the sea, through spices, through textiles, through food,

through so many elements, we come together.

You may have the perly jewels, but we control the taste.
