Now that Pretend is a hundred episodes in, I decided that maybe it's time to go back

to the topic that inspired this whole podcast to begin with.

A lot of you don't realize but Pretend was not always a show about a con artist.

In fact, the whole idea was inspired by comedians, ghost writers, and other performers that

had to pretend to be someone else in order to create their art.

I also thought maybe this show is about plagiarism, you know, stealing other people's work.

It was a very artsy, farty show, which I'm sure would have been very interesting, but

I scrapped the whole idea and I turned this podcast into about deception and con artist,

which is way more interesting.

Also, I don't even have any of those episodes that hard drive crashed many years ago.

But I decided that, you know what, a hundred episodes later, I should give it a shot.

Let's redo that idea, let's try one of those episodes out.

So this episode is not about crime, but it is about pretending.

It's about real musicians pretending to pass on original pieces of work as their own.

And I have a very special guest, his name is Luxury, and we had a brilliant conversation,
