I'm Bob Run.

For the last few weeks, we've been focusing in on Detective Matt Hardy's investigation

into the double homicide of Lloyd and Agnes Courtney.

I think that it's important at this stage to remind ourselves that we were approaching

this investigation with new eyes starting at the beginning.

There are two phases to any criminal investigation.

The first being an evidence-driven investigation.

In the evidence-driven phase, our goal is to gather information and develop theories

as to how the crime happened.

How are the murders carried out?

What is the crime scene telling us in terms of potential motive?

When did the attacks occur?

What is our window of opportunity for the offender?

And who might be ruled out with a valid alibi?

In the first segment of today's episode, I'm going to be reviewing the handwritten notes

taken by Detective Hardy during his investigation.

How my review of his notes, it occurred to me why his investigation is so incomplete,

leaving us with a lot of unanswered questions.
