Summary

It’s easy to understand why prenuptial agreements get a bad rap. We think of that rich guy, selfishly protecting his assets just in case wife No. 3 doesn’t work out. But it turns out that’s a pretty narrow view. There are plenty of people whose marriages have been made stronger by prenups. For Anne and Nick, it wasn’t a hedge against their marriage falling apart. It was an important gesture of trust. Email us at [email protected].

But before we go, I need to know, what are you taking away from this season?

that our theme for season eight would be love and money.

1:00.1

The conversation soon led to prenuptial agreements. Jim was anti-prenupt.

1:06.3

Or more accurately, he thinks it's weird to negotiate the end of a relationship

before you even get married. Marjorie was like, hold on, no, prenups are smart.

1:17.8

They are not some big admission that a relationship is likely to fail.

1:22.2

For what it's worth, I was with Marjorie on this one.

1:24.9

Where are you on the prenupt? I have to say, I've never been able to wrap my arms around the

1:29.5

notion. You say, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And by the way,

1:34.5

sign on the dotted line. Do I think there's a need to have a prenupt if you're 20 and have

nothing? Probably not. It makes a lot of sense. And you're not just doing it because you're saying,
