Hello everybody and welcome back to Truth and Justice.

This episode is going to be a little different.

As I mentioned in this week's Friday follow-up,

my intention for today was to start to walk us through the investigation

that led to the arrest and conviction of Deborah Parenger.

My plan was to go through the trial transcripts

from three different detectives who testified.

But when I got into the trial transcripts and read what was there,

it was little to nothing.

Three different detectives, they didn't get into any detail,

they didn't testify for very long,

most of it was focused on cuts on Debbie's fingers

and bruises on her arms, and cross examination

didn't yield many results either.

So I went back to the files and I was digging through the hundreds of files

that I received from the Fort Worth Police Department,

all those files that didn't have file names, just numbers.
