The year is 2013. Online dating is becoming quite the rage.

Vicki, a recent college grad, decides to give it a shot.

She makes an account on OKCupid.

She answers the long list of silly questions to build out her profile,

actually enjoys doing it. Pretty soon, she connects with a woman we'll call Jessica.

On their first date, Vicki and Jessica hit it off. They discover they have a lot in common,

like how they both had gone to the University of Central Florida in Orlando,

and how they're both figuring out how to jumpstart their careers.

Vicki wants to be a teacher. Jessica, an audiologist.

After just a month of dating, Vicki takes a chance.

I was like, you know, would you want to go on a trip with me just for like a weekend?

And it was like, yeah, you know, yeah, let's do it.
