If it ever becomes a podcast, it cannot be called chasing scratch.

It needs to be called dreaming of six.

Okay, so here's my question.

We have gotten a couple of emails on this,

and then a few people at this event asked the same question.

One email was actually addressed to Lenny,

and they said, Lenny, when are you going to tell Mike and Eli

that they actually accomplished what they set up to accomplish?

We are two guys in our mid-40s with wives, kids, jobs, and after eight years, we're still chasing scratch.

This episode is called the eighth end.

All right, Lenny, give me the xylophones.

As you know, we normally end each year with the final major,

but this year there's a little extra.

And there's a few reasons for that. One, I think this year ended in a strange spot.

Eli just got healthy enough to play just in time for the season to end.

Also a factor into the strangeness that are handicaps.

Went the complete wrong direction, even though everything feels like it's going in the right direction.

Same thing with the final major itself. In some ways, we saw a ton of growth. In others, it looked

like regression. And then on top of all that, there's that question we talked about last episode.

And that question made us get quite philosophical about what we're doing, what we've accomplished,
